Daniël van der Sluijs

At Qlero, Daniël van der Sluijs serves as Head of Product and Operations & Co-Founder, working closely with clients on onboarding, migrations, and product development. With a hands-on approach, he helps translate complex royalty and data challenges into practical, scalable solutions that fit real-world workflows.

Daniël van der Sluijs brings over a decade of experience from the record label side of the music industry. His journey started early and led him to the Herman Brood Academy, where he studied Management Popmusic and later returned as a guest teacher, sharing his practical experience with students.

Over the years, he has worked across independent and international label structures, with a strong focus on digital distribution, catalog management, royalty accounting, data structuring, and rights management. He has also worked with multiple royalty systems, giving him broad field experience in handling complex data and operational challenges.

He spent several years at Protocol Recordings, where he grew into the role of Label Director, leading day-to-day operations and overseeing the full royalty and distribution chain. He later worked with CTM, managing royalty operations across multiple label entities, including system migrations and improving data and workflow structures.

In addition, Daniël co-founded Opus Media Management and has worked as a consultant, supporting labels and music brokers with their royalty and data setups.

  • Translates label accounting processes, including master payouts, producer splits, multi-territory DSP reports, into Qlero software requirements.
